The Nap Nanny Helps a Baby Sleep Better - Kathy Gleason
There are many products available that claim to help babies sleep better, but the Nap Nanny is one that actually delivers.

Parents of newborns frequently lament the lack of sleep experienced in the early months of a child’s life. Unfortunately, it’s usually not possible to avoid this altogether, but there are several things that can help. One of those things is the Nap Nanny.

What is the Nap Nanny

The Nap Nanny is an infant recliner. It is made from foam and comes with a soft, cushy cover. The cover is removable for easy washing, and comes in the standard shades of pink, blue, green and tan. There are also covers with patterns and that are a bit more trendy looking, but these cost extra.

When a baby is in the Nap Nanny, his or her head and chest is a bit elevated, as are the baby’s feet. The sides are slightly raised, which some babies like, as it feels smaller and more secure than a big crib. Although the Nap Nanny is roomy enough for baby to feel comfortable in, it’s very lightweight and easy to move from room to room or take to grandma’s house.

Who is the Nap Nanny Useful for and Where to Purchase It

This item is intended only for children who are at least eight pounds. Although any baby can use it, it’s especially helpful for babies suffering from acid reflux and colic, as it keeps the baby’s head and chest elevated. This also makes the Nap Nanny wonderful for young babies who are ill with a cold or an ear ache.

This infant recliner can be purchased at infant boutiques and online. The cost is about $130.00, which is well worth the money if it makes the baby comfortable and the parents get a decent night’s sleep.

For parents who have toddlers, purchasing an extra Nap Nanny may be something to consider, as older children also seem to love lounging on the Nap Nanny for watching television or hearing stories.

Infant Recliner Warnings

Infants should only be laid down to sleep while Nap Nanny is on the floor, never in a crib or on a bed, as these are soft surfaces and could potentially pose a suffocation hazard if the recliner were to get tipped over. It’s fine to use the Nap Nanny for overnight sleeping for young babies, but babies who can sit up by themselves shouldn’t be left alone on the Nap Nanny. It’s also important to remember to always buckle a young baby into the Nap Nanny for safety’s sake.

With so much baby gear available, it’s hard to know what items are important and which to leave off the shopping list. The Nap Nanny is a keeper for helping babies sleep comfortably.

Couldn't have said it better! The Nap Nanny has totally changed my life. We have purchased one for my mother's house and for my husband's mother's house. This product is one of the greatest out there and I highly recommend it to every mommy out there. It is helpful for so many problems- gas, reflux, colds- just to name a few! Who wouldn't love something like this!
